Engineer (P.E.) / Senior Engineer

The San Diego County Water Authority is seeking talented and motivated engineers to join our Engineering Department. We are recruiting for both Engineer (P.E.) and Senior Engineer positions. Whether you are looking to advance your project management experience or lead complex regional infrastructure initiatives, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the reliability of San Diego County's water future.

The Water Authority serves as the region's wholesale water provider, supporting 22 member agencies and helping ensure a safe and reliable water supply for more than 3 million residents. Our engineers play a critical role in planning, designing, and delivering the infrastructure necessary to support the region's long-term water reliability goals.

Depending on the level assigned, engineers will:

• Manage and support complex capital improvement and infrastructure projects
• Coordinate engineering design, construction, permitting, and project delivery activities
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and work with consultants, contractors, and stakeholder agencies
• Develop technical analyses, reports, studies, and recommendations
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and risks
• Review engineering designs and construction documents
• Support the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and critical infrastructure investments
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, environmental, regulatory, and planning professionals to ensure successful project outcomes
• Senior Engineers serve as project leaders for the Water Authority's most complex and impactful projects. In addition to advanced technical expertise, Senior Engineers provide leadership to project teams, coordinate major project efforts, and help shape the successful delivery of critical regional infrastructure investments.
